Israel on War Alert after Syria Threat

Israel has gone on heightened alert over a possible war with Syria amid reports that President Bashar Assad may be considering military strikes to regain the Golan Heights.

For years Israeli military intelligence has down-played Syria's capacity to launch a meaningful attack against Israel, and the threat level has been kept "low".

But Israeli reports have revealed that the threat level had been raised after intelligence assessments that Damascus is "seriously examining" military action.

The raised threat level comes as Israel prepares for Monday's Day of Atonement, known as Yom Kippur, a solemn Jewish holiday when the entire country effectively shuts down as residents fast and seek forgiveness for sins.

'Extinct' Alaskan Volcano Shows Signs of Eruption

Vents on Alaska's Fourpeaked Mountain have been spewing volcanic gases and experts at the Alaska Volcano Observatory say an eruption is possible.

Peter Cervelli, a geophysicist for the US Geological Survey and the observatory, said it is hard to predict if or when an eruption will occur but "nothing is imminent."

According to the observatory's Web page, an explosive eruption could occur in the coming days to weeks. Volcanic activity could be ash plumes exceeding 33,000 feet above sea level, with lava flows, or it could be nothing.

Even a small eruption can cause floods, debris and mud flows, so the area on remote Cape Douglas is considered hazardous, according to the observatory.

Fourpeaked Mountain is about 80 miles northwest of Kodiak and 220 miles southwest of Anchorage across Cook Inlet.

Mega Comet to Strike Earth in October?

Arctic lake melts out of sea ice into ocean

Something unusual is going on in the Beaufort Sea, a remote part of the Arctic Ocean north of Alaska. Over the past six weeks, a huge "lake" bigger than the state of Indiana has melted out of the sea ice.

Within the past week, this "polynya" - a Russian word for any open water surrounded by sea ice - finally melted through a part of the ice that separated it from the open ocean, forming a kind of bay in the planet's northern ice cap.

"The reason we're tracking it is because we had never seen anything like that before," said Mark C. Serreze, senior research scientist at the National Snow and Ice Data Center in Boulder, Colo.

Climate Change Hits Caribbean Islands

Scientists have issued their strongest warning so far this year that unusually warm Caribbean Sea temperatures threaten coral reefs that suffered widespread damage last year in record-setting heat. Waters have reached 85.5 degrees around the U.S. Virgin Islands and 85.1 degrees around Puerto Rico - temperatures at which coral can be damaged if waters do not cool after a few weeks - said Al Strong, a scientist with the U.S. National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration's Coral Reef Watch, in a telephone interview Monday. The warning issued Saturday by NOAA urges scuba-dive operators and underwater researchers in the U.S. Caribbean territories to look for coral damage and use caution around the fragile reefs, which are easily damaged by physical contact. Coral, which provide a sheltered habitat for fish, lobsters and other animals, die from prolonged bleaching, when the water temperature gets so high that it kills the algae that populate and build the reefs. The new warning follows two watches issued since July. Strong said the water was not expected to become as warm as last year, when sea temperatures in the territories reached their highest levels this decade and as much as 40 percent of the coral died around the U.S. Virgin Islands.

Peaceful Iraq war protests prompt 71 arrests

Two Presbyterian ministers were among 71 people arrested during a series of peaceful protests against the Iraq war Tuesday, said a spokeswoman for a group participating in the protests.

Demonstrators held sit-ins, prayer services and sing-alongs at four locations in the Capitol complex, including the central atrium of the Senate Hart Office Building.

The demonstrations were reminiscent of the Vietnam era, with protesters strumming guitars, singing peace songs, holding flowers and wearing hats made of balloons.

Senate staffers watched the demonstrators from their offices. Protesters said that several workers gave them a thumbs-up or other signs of approval.

"We are trying to protest a lack of civil liberties and to try and end a war culture," said protester Alex Bryan of New York.

Israel Deploys Nuclear Weapons Against Iran

The decision by Israel to deploy its nuclear weapons against Iran is consistent with America's nuclear doctrine which also considers the use of nuclear weapons as an act of "self-defense".

The US with the support of Israel and NATO has already deployed tactical nuclear weapons directed against Iran. The US led coaltion is in an advanced state of readiness to wage war on Iran.

NASA Aborts Shuttle Landing Due to Mysterious Objects

CAPE CANAVERAL, Fla. – NASA mission controllers are tracking a mystery object hovering between the space shuttle Atlantis and Earth, and traveling at roughly the same speed as the orbiter, agency officials said Tuesday. “Right now they’re just tying to figure out exactly what it is, how far away it is,” NASA spokesperson Kimberly Harle told SPACE.com. “It’s pretty much assessing the whole situation.”Harle said that at 2:45 a.m. EDT (0645 GMT), just after Atlantis completed a check of its reaction control thrusters, the instrumentation and communications officer at NASA’s shuttle Mission Control room at Johnson Space Center noted an object between the orbiter and Earth, and traveling at about the same speed of the spacecraft.

Flight controllers are now using video cameras mounted along Atlantis’ robotic arm and payload bay to survey visible areas of the orbiter, including its wing leading edges and other vital heat shield areas, Harle said. “Everything is still under assessment,” Harle said.For now, Atlantis’ STS-115 shuttle crew will not stow their Ku-band antenna – the primary video and data link to Earth – to allow flight controllers to continue to study the object.

Chaos in Thailand after Military Coup

Thailand's army commander ousted Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra in a military coup while he was in New York, circling his offices with tanks, declaring martial law and revoking the constitution. A televised announcement from the commander ordered all troops to report to duty.

Muslims Warned to Leave the USA

The CSA has learned through our Intelligence Network that Abu Dawood, the newly appointed commander of the al Qaeda forces in Afghanistan has instructed all Muslims living in the United States should leave the country without further warning.

According to our sources, the American people will be treated to a final audio message from Osama bin Laden which will be aired within the next two weeks. Al Qaeda and the Taliban will also supposedly launch a major strike (known as the
"Badar offensive" against the coalition forces in Afghanistan during the holy month of Ramadan.

According to Abu Dawood this will be a bigger attack than September 11th 2001. He is hintig that these are the final preparations for the American Hiroshima, a major attack on the U.S. with nuclear devices.

The UN General Assembly on Tuesday

Today the United Nations General Assembly will meet for the 61st time. This particular meeting though, should be very interesting. The assembly will begin at 11:00 am with a discussion about Irans nuclear policy and it's so called "peaceful" program. Thrirty minutes later, Bush will address the UN, no doubt promoting his 'Freedom Agenda' to other world leaders. He will also be critical about Iran, while the President of that particular country, stares and watches in anger. Forget the 4th of July, these fireworks should be MUCH better.

Later in the day, at around 7:00 pm, the President of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, will give his speech to the UN. It is not known if Bush will be present at the UN for that speech or not. But he has already confirmed, along with other members of his cabinet, that he will not debate President Ahmadinejad about Iran's nuclear program. Earlier this month, Iran's President challenged President Bush to the debate and it was instantly shot down by the Bush administration.

I feel that this assembly today will yield interesting results. Hopefully, it will inspire the UN to act more quickly about Iran's nuke program. Lately, the UN has seemed absent in the issue and many believe that the UN is not performing its duties and should be scraped to the ground and rebuilt with new intentions. We shoul also expect Koffi Annan, head of the UN, to discuss Iraq and the looming possibility of a possible civil war. Over a hundred bodies were discovered in Baghdad last week, making many believe that the Bush Administration may be losing their grip on the region.

Military Orders Suggest Iran Attack

Two recent orders by the American military have led some observers to conclude that the U.S. is preparing for an attack on Iran.

One order was a "Prepare to Deploy" command sent to a submarine, an Aegis-class cruiser, two minesweepers and two mine hunters, telling the ships’ commanders to be ready to move by Oct. 1.

The other was a request from the Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) for a fresh look at long-standing U.S. plans to blockade two Iranian oil ports on the Persian Gulf.

The orders created a buzz within the military because there are few places in the world where minesweepers could be significant – chief among them, the Strait of Hormuz in the Persian Gulf, where about 40 percent of the world’s oil passes each day.

"Coupled with the CNO’s request for a blockade review, a deployment of minesweepers to the west coast of Iran would seem to suggest that a much discussed – but until now largely theoretical – prospect has become real: that the U.S. may be preparing for war with Iran,” according to a special report in Time magazine.

Bomb plot suspect halts evidence

The jury in the trial of seven men accused of plotting to bomb UK targets was sent home after a defendant refused to give further evidence in court.

Omar Khyam, 24, of Crawley, Sussex, said he feared for the safety of his family in Pakistan after they were contacted by security services there.

The judge told Mr Khyam the jury could "draw inferences" from his refusal.

He and six others deny conspiring with a Canadian to cause explosions. The trial was adjourned until Tuesday.

Mr Khyam was the first of seven Britons who deny conspiring to cause explosions to give evidence at the Old Bailey.

Al Qaeda threat over pope speech

An al Qaeda-linked extremist group warned Pope Benedict XVI on Monday that he and the West were "doomed," as protesters raged across the Muslim world to demand more of an apology from the pontiff for his remarks about Islam and violence.

The Mujahedeen Shura Council, an umbrella organization of Sunni Arab extremist groups that includes al Qaeda in Iraq, issued a statement on a Web forum vowing to continue its holy war against the West. The authenticity of the statement could not be independently verified.

The group said Muslims would be victorious and addressed the pope as "the worshipper of the cross" saying "you and the West are doomed as you can see from the defeat in Iraq, Afghanistan, Chechnya and elsewhere. ... We will break up the cross, spill the liquor and impose head tax, then the only thing acceptable is a conversion (to Islam) or (killed by) the sword."

Russia Begins Call For ‘One World Leader’

In a headline that sounds more like a prophecy coming out of the Bibles Book of the Apocalypse, Revelations, Portugal’s Diario de Noticias News Service is reporting today that Russia’s Foreign Minister Lavrov has begun the call for a One World Leader, and as we can read as also reported by the ITAR-TASS News Service:

"Russia does not see a reasonable alternative to the creation of a new collective leader comprising key, highly industrialized countries in the world, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov [has said in Portugal].

According to the minister, these key countries should be “representative in terms of geography and civilization.” “The Group of Eight (G8) may become an important aspect of an informal mechanism of a new collective leader,” Lavrov pointed out."

The timing of this long awaited fulfillment of the ancient prophecies comes as the combined Armies of the West and East are continuing their encirclement of the last remaining peoples holding to their ancient knowledge and belief, the Muslims. From Afghanistan, to Lebanon, to Iraq, and now to the Sudan thousands of soldiers from the great banking powers of both the East and West are beginning their preparations for the final assault upon the Middle Eastern Muslim Nations.

Not fully explained to the Western people are that the World’s over 1 billion people of the Islamic faith are all that stands between our most ancient of masters and total control of the World’s entire banking system because of the Muslims refusal to charge interest as their religion deems it an affront to God….and which fighters for freedom throughout our history have warned humanity that our greatest threat to freedom lies not in Armies or Empires, but in those that control the banks and money.

Hurricane Gordon targets Azores and British Isles

Hurricane Gordon is breaking all the rules of meteorology and fighting northeast through the high ltitudes and increasingly cold seas. As it does it has intensified to an 80kt Hurricane and is expected to infact be even more intense that that. It is expected to slowly turn extra-tropical but glide by the Azores with sustained 70KT winds before turning north and crashing into Southern Ireland with 60KT sustained winds.

The NHC have already issued Azores with a tropical storm warning the first time this has EVER been issued.

As storm glides north against all rules the GFDL model indicated CAT 3 winds awhen the storm is halfway between the Azores and Britain.
